Robyn is a Canadian art director and illustrator.

Born and raised in Toronto with cultural roots in Hong Kong, Robyn is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She is an alum of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration, and has worn many hats over the years as an art director, graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and animator. She’s worked in branding agencies, children’s publishing, startups, and for online stationery and event-sending companies.

Robyn currently freelances out of her home studio, writing and illustrating picture books. When the pandemic hit and we all started losing our minds, Robyn found a lot of joy in teaching, and has hosted an online, after-school drawing class every Tuesday since 2020 for a delightful group of 4-7 year-olds. When not working, Robyn will be either at the pottery studio, baking banana bread, or solving for queen bee.

Robyn is the illustrator of I Had a Favorite Hat, and is represented by the wonderful Stephen Barr of Writers House. Prints of her illustrations are available at Society6.

“Robyn” is spelled with a y and “Ng” is pronounced ɪng; it rhymes with sing, fling, bling, ring, zing.
